Southeast District Meeting & GA Laws and Rules Course

The GOA will be hosting a Southeast District Meeting and Stand-Alone Georgia Laws and Rules Course in Savannah, Georgia on Friday, August 11, 2023.  The meeting will be taking place at Origin Coffee Bar, located at 356 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Savannah, GA 31401 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. 

We will begin the evening at 6:30 p.m. with a meet and greet reception with newly inducted, GOA President, Dr. Nacondus Gamble, making her first Presidential District visit. We will follow with discussion on GOA News and District Information.  The District Meeting will conclude at 7:30 p.m. 

For those that need the one hour of Georgia Laws and Rules credit for their relicensure, we will begin the class at 7:30 p.m. concluding approximately at 8:20 p.m.  Dr. Ellen Fitzgerald, Member, Georgia State Board of Optometry  will be lecturing. 

This meeting is open to all ODs. You may register to attend the District Meeting Only or Georgia Laws and Rules Only* or Both*. *Registration Fees apply below.  

Parking: There is great amount of free parking near the shop. You can find free street parking along West Jones, West Charlton, and Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. There is also free parking available to Origins guests in the West Broad parking lot around the back of our building on West Charlton Street.

Optometrist Registration Fees:  

• Attending District Meeting Only - No Fee
• Georgia Laws and Rules - $125.00 (Non GOA or Non AOA Members)
• Georgia Laws and Rules - $75.00 (GOA/AOA Members)

Discount code: Registering ODs that are AOA Members in good standing affiliated through another State Association or AFOS will receive member pricing by using the code designed for them.

Education & Policies 

• There will be a total of 1 hour of NON-COPE, GA State Board Approved Georgia Laws and Rules offered at this meeting.
• Valid name badges will serve admission and must be worn by attendees at all times.
• Entrance and exit will be monitored to meet Georgia State Board Regulations.
• Attendees may only be absent from class for a maximum of 10 minutes/lecture hour. If absent more than the allotted time, attendee will be allowed to return to the lecture hall but will not receive credit for that class.
• The ARBO OE Tracker Scanning System and CE Cards will be available.

Cancellation Policy - There will be a $15.00 Administrative Fee for all cancelled registrations. We will issue refunds for cancellations made prior to August 9, 2023. No refunds will be issued after August 9, 2023. Substitutions are permitted at any time, please notify the GOA Office immediately with any changes or cancellations.
